Re: [a/s] Insurance in Texas
It would be quite a bit more if your address was just a few miles south
in Houston, maybe as much as 40% more. When my daughter went to school
out of Dallas county the premium on her car dropped by about that much.
I carry a $1,000 deductible on collision coverage because I don't tend
to have or cause collisions. My thinking is if I am involved in a
collision the other driver will most likely be at fault and my vehicle
will be repaired by his liability. Even though liability coverage is
required by law, there are plenty of people out there (you know, the
irresponsible ones) who don't have it. It seems like they are the ones
involved in most of the accidents. It could be because they are the
irresponsible ones. Anyway, my uninsured motorist coverage will kick in
if he doesn't have liability and it has a $250 deductible. The only case
where I would actually pay the $1,000 is if I run my vehicle into
something, and it is my fault. In that case I deserve it. The premiums
for $1,000 deductible are quite a bit lower. You might check it out.
