Hi Hunter, although your warranty may very well have expired, it is my
opinion that manufacturers do not take modifications like this lightly. They
understand and know well, how this type of equipment can compromise the
integrity of the hot water heater that they manufacture. I am not judgmental
about whether one should choose to install Hott Rod or not, I have done it
myself. In fact we installed ours into a new hot water heater that was under
warranty. I just feel that there are risks and we should be aware of them
and not deny their existence. I feel that although we may have confidence in
what we have done, it is not fair to tell others that it is okay and without
