Here is an interesting experiment that should be performed by some reliable
agency.

Take two vehicles identical in all respects except one.  One is powered by
gasoline and has a normal gasoline tank and the other powered by propane
with a normal vehicle propane tank.

Most if not all automobiles have their gas or propane tanks near the rear of
the car.

Now, submit these two cars to identical force impacts (to the rear end of
the car).

It would be interesting to see which of these two cars sustains the worst
result.

I can not hazard a guess because I don't know enough about the engineering
that goes into these two respectively powered vehicles.
