That is not true at all.  I am not passionate about my hitch.  It is
adequate, it serves its purpose.  I am always on the lookout to improve my
situation.  I don't pretend to have the best hitch, the best tow vehicle
and, I hope this does not get me kicked off this list, the best trailer.  I
will say that, taking in consideration the amount of money I am willing to
spend, I can live with the equipment I do have.

Unfortunately some people think that the best thing (whatever the product)
there is, is whatever they happen to own at the moment. I have read things
on this list where the writer provided information seeming to indicate that
the only product worth having is what they had.  Then for what ever reason
they made a change in product and now their current product is the only one
worth having.  Admittedly I am exaggerating a little (not much).  I am being
intentionally obtuse because I don't want to point fingers at anyone in
particular.

When I make a decision on the product I am going to buy, especially
expensive items, I want to have the best "arms length information"
possible.  Preferably hard data.

You were kind enough not to identify me as the person who wanted statistical
information.   However, as a retired scientist, I have come to base
decisions, as much as possible, on hard data.  If I am to decide between
several products I would like to have much more than passionate opinions on
which to base my decision.  There is a good reason why insurance companies
do not make actuarial decisions based on small sample statistics.  They are
less reliable than large sample statistics.

I'm definitely not opposed to the Henseley hitch.  There is a very good
reason for this.  I have no hard information with which to speak poorly of
it.  I  can not even criticize its rather handsome price tag.  If it is in
fact all that the passionate people and the vendors say it is the price is
right.  If on the other hand it is just as good as other hitches then the
price is not  right.  I don't know what the facts are.

OK folks, just call me Jack Web and get it over with.  I just "want the
facts."  The logic for the Henseley that was presented seemed sound.  It
does give convincing evidence that, empirically, the results are what one
would expect.  I have seen many situations (not related to trailering or RVs
where logic would seem to point in one direction but the empirical results
pointed in a different direction.  That usually occurs because all apriori
relevant contingencies were not known.
