Hunter:

         All states that *I* have driven in - all in the eastern half of 
the US - allow two trailers now. At least Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, 
Kentucky and Ohio, where most of my driving on I-75 is done.  I recall some 
years back that Michigan was proposing allowing longer "trains," but cannot 
tell you if it was ever approved, nor have I seen any three-trailer rigs on 
the road.
         I've seen drivers back two-trailer semis up like it was no more 
than backing with one trailer; I certainly wouldn't want to try that.
