What Gerald says is true. That plug was made for 300 ohm
twin-lead and normally it doesn't do well next to an electrical
conductor. However, the twin-lead in an A/S is usually shielded
which helps with that problem. But more importantly it is already
threaded in the walls and next to impossible to replace short of
removing the inside panels. The alternative is to run 72 ohm
cable inside.
If you want to use the existing cable, you can drill a hole
between the two little holes that look like a snake bite, and
install a 72 - 300 ohm transformer (about the size of your little
finger) then use the cable from there to the tv.
