Douglas,

I wish we had found this list before we bought our 1998 19" Bambi.  Not that 
I'm sorry about buying it and I guess nothing would have changed, not even 
the price because we bought it from a dealer.

The day we drove 120 miles to look at it there was a man from Oregon picking 
up a '  '23 or 25' Safari.  He told us 'our' Bambi was his 2nd choice as he 
was driving off the grounds.  Boy, was I glad he hadn't chosen the Bambi!  

We bought our trailer at Toscano RV in Los Banos, CA.  It is on Hwy 52 
between Hwy 99 and Hwy 5 (middle of San Joaquin valley).  There are only 3 
a/s dealers anywhere near us here in SF eastbay.  One south of SF (San 
Carlos?), one in Manteca (east of belta-near Stockton, I think) and Los 
Banos.  We were really pleased with the service we rec'dd at Toscano.  They 
had us stay all day to install the hitch (Reese/equalizing and sway bar) and 
then overnight to check everything out. They are very accomodating and 
friendly - NO sales pressure at all.

We had looked at only a few other brand trailers before looking at the a/s.  
I had been told by the other two a/s dealers (by phone) that used 19' Bambis 
were very unlikely to be found.  When I called Toscano and was told they had 
a like new one we were on our way the next weekend to look.  I walked inside 
and said "I want it!"  (no salesman near).  When we picked it up 4 weeks 
later they had a new 2000 model and I wouldn't have traded straight across.  
For one thing I didn't like the looks of the protective panels they had on 
the front.  Also, liked the colors better in ours and the person who had 
originally bought it had the dinette area converted to more of a sofa.  It 
still has a table and can be made into a bed but is very comfortable for 
lounging on.
