Between 4000 and 5000 mi. with the syn. The engine is the old International 
Harvester 6.9L with a Banks turbo I installed. It is a supercab F250HD which 
I converted into a dually by getting a new bed from a 90 truck from a 
junkyard that was a dually, removed the fiberglass fenders and purchased new 
fenders from a dealer that matched the 84 model wheel well configuration. 
Next, Had the entire truck repainted with a clearcoat paint to match the 
original color. Purchased the dual wheel conversion kit from a conversion co. 
out of MI. along with Alcoa Aluminum wheels. Stayed with 16in all around and 
e rated tires. It has the 4 speed manual trany w/out overdrive and 3:57 rear 
end. I usually drive about 5 mph over the speed limit on the highway and see 
an average of 13.4 miles/gal of fuel with the Airstream in tow. This figure 
on mileage is from a typical trip from the Central states over the mountains 
in the West and back again. If I would head to the East the mileage was 
usually about .5 mi/gal. better(lower hills and usually with the wind). I 
also relocated the spare tire and installed a 38 gal. fuel tank in the place 
of the original 19 gal. rear tank and left the front 19 gal. tank stock. I 
hate to stop for diesel fuel.
I think its the only bad thing about having a diesel.
Now you have the whole story. I think we (people in general), just like to 
talk about themselves and, or their toys. I guess I fit that category. No, I 
know I fit that category.
